Moldova and France will mutually recognize driving licenses

This is stipulated by the intergovernmental agreement on mutual exchange of driving licenses, which the countries signed in Paris on July 12, 2024, and now the Moldovan Cabinet has approved this document. It is stipulated that Moldova and France will mutually recognize driving licenses issued since 2020. Thus, Moldovan citizens living in France will be able to exchange their Moldovan driver's licenses for French documents. At the same time, passing a theoretical and/or practical test during the conversion process will be excluded. Thus, the Moldovan citizens in France will be supported and the traffic between the two states will be facilitated. The Cabinet said that the Government will further expand the list of countries that recognize the Moldovan driver's licenses on the basis of reciprocity, in order to facilitate international road trips, allowing drivers to drive legally in the two states, without having to pass an additional theoretical and/or practical exam. Moldova has so far also signed agreements on mutual recognition of driving licenses with Turkey, Italy, Spain, Greece, Albania, Lithuania, as well as a joint declaration of intent with Germany regarding the transcription of driving licenses. //25.09.2024 - InfoMarket.
