Ten urban sculptures and benches made of wood, stone and metal have appeared in the courtyard of the National Museum of Romanian Literature in Chisinau.
They were created as part of the Urban Sculpture Camp, which took place in August-September as part of the Creative Residence, a platform dedicated to the development of the creative sector in Moldova and the transformation of unused museum spaces into a dynamic center of artistic expression, collaboration and innovation. The first ten works are benches and outdoor sculptures made of wood, stone and metal that decorate the courtyard of the National Museum of Romanian Literature in Chisinau. They were created by famous sculptors, members of the Union of Artists of Moldova: Ioan Grecu, Paraschiva Popa-Donoi, Gheorghe Urechi, Petru Glavan and Alexei Vidraşco. Creative Residence is an initiative implemented within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Culture, the Future Technologies (FTA) project, funded by USAID, Sweden and the United Kingdom, and the Rural Competitiveness and Resilience project, funded by USAID. The official opening of Creative Residence is scheduled for mid-2025, and the total investment in this initiative will amount to 8.4 million lei. Part of it is covered by the state budget, and part by the donor project.//26.09.2024 – InfoMarket.
