Entrepreneurs of Moldova received 81.1 million lei in compensation in January-July 2025 to partially cover electricity costs
The Organization for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA) reported this, noting that the money was allocated to them under the Compensation Program launched by the Moldovan government with financial support from the European Union. In particular, in the first seven months of 2025, this support measure covered 721 unique beneficiaries, which helped reduce the financial pressure on businesses affected by the tariff increases. In total, during this period, the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization and the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development approved 2,340 applications. Also, as part of this program, the Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture provided support to farmers by paying them compensation of 21.68 million lei. This initiative is being implemented with the support of the European Union as part of joint efforts to strengthen economic sustainability and support small and medium-sized enterprises in Moldova. The program will run throughout 2025. Entrepreneurs can apply entirely online, either through the EVO app or the MCabinet platform. To better meet the needs of the business environment, the program has been adjusted during its implementation. Among the most important changes are: extension of the application deadline from 10 to 30 days; removal of the 3% eligibility threshold to ensure access to a larger number of beneficiaries (previously, electricity costs had to account for at least 3% of a company's revenue to participate in the program); extension of the program's duration to the whole of 2025 (initially planned for only 3 months). Full information on eligibility criteria, required documents, and steps to be taken is available on the website of the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization. // 07.08.2025 – InfoMarket.
