According to the Ministry of Energy, the companies in question are CET-Nord, RED-Nord, FEE-Nord, Termoelectrica, Energocom, Moldelectrica, and Nodul Hidroenergetic Costești. Their cybersecurity audit was conducted from October 2024 to June 2025. Two specialized companies from Romania were selected through an open tender. The audit, initiated by the Ministry of Energy, included: analysis of IT infrastructure and identification of vulnerabilities; verification of compliance with legal requirements and standards; assessment of internal policies and procedures; interviews with staff to assess their level of awareness of cyber risks. The audit results were presented at a workshop attended by representatives of the seven companies. They were provided with individual reports containing specific recommendations and action plans to improve cyber resilience.
