Moldova is interested in expanding cooperation with US companies in the energy sector – the Energy Ministry

This was stated by Energy Minister Dorin Junghietu during a meeting with Daniela DiPierro, Charge d'Affaires of the US Embassy in Moldova. According to the Energy Ministry, the sides discussed the latest developments in the energy sector, as well as the Ministry's vision of ensuring energy security on both banks of the Dniester and its impact on the economic growth. Dorin Junghietu highlighted the US assistance in overcoming the energy crisis, as well as in reforming and developing the sector. “The US contribution was extremely important both in terms of overcoming the energy crisis provoked by the Russian Federation and in the ambitious reforms undertaken in the sector, for which we benefited from very valuable technical and legislative experience,” the Energy Minister said. Also, there were discussed policy priorities and investment needs in energy infrastructure development, as well as opportunities to expand cooperation with US companies in the sector.
