More than 770 thousand euros will be allocated for the development of technical documentation for the implementation of energy rehabilitation works at the Oncology Institute of Moldova

The Ministry of Energy and the Consolidated Unit for the Implementation and Monitoring of Energy Projects (UCIPE) announced this, noting that this is stipulated by the signed contract for the execution of these project works. In particular, the renovation of the Oncology Institute will take place within the Moldova Energy Efficiency Project, financed by the European Union, the European Investment Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. A contract for the elaboration of technical documentation for the works has been signed. The value of the contract is about 772 thousand euros, the estimated term of execution - up to 11 months. The contractor is a consortium of Management4health AG, BIM-TECH Solution and CSZ Ingenieurconsult GmbH @ Co. KG. According to UCIPE Director Ruslan Surugiu, the contractor was selected through an international tender procedure. The contract envisages both the development of technical design documentation and author's supervision of construction works. Ruslan Baltaga, Director of the Oncology Institute, noted the importance of this project for the institution, the medical staff, as well as for the improvement of the accommodation conditions for about 32 thousand patients who are hospitalized annually and more than 250 thousand people who are examined there annually. “This project will allow us to optimize our energy consumption by applying the necessary energy efficiency measures, and will offer a number of benefits that have a great impact on the institution, patients and medical staff,” he said. Within the project it is planned to energy rehabilitate 16 buildings of 10 medical institutions. At the moment, tender procedures have been finalized and contracts have been signed for the development of technical documentation for all 10 medical institutions participating in the project. Once the design works are finalized, the relevant tender procedures will be carried out to conclude contracts with the companies that will carry out the renovation works. Moldova Energy Efficiency Project is one of the largest national initiatives to improve the energy efficiency of public buildings. The amount of investments in the project is about 76 million euros, provided by the European Union, the European Investment Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The project is being implemented by the Moldovan government through the Ministry of Energy and UCIPE, with support from the EU, EIB and EBRD. // 04.03.2025 - InfoMarket
