Energocom purchased about 403 thousand MWh in February on the local market and through imports at a weighted average price of EUR 137.53/MWh
According to the state-owned Energocom, this price is lower than the marginal purchase price included in the current tariff of 145 EUR/MWh, set by the National Agency for Energy Regulation (NAER). At the same time, the European Commission allocated a grant to Moldova, of which 10 million euros for the right bank of the Dniester, which will reduce the cost of energy purchased on the market in Romania (OPCOM and BRM). In case of compensating the cost of energy on the exchange, the cost of energy purchased in February will decrease from 137.53 EUR/MWh to 112.78 EUR/MWh. As Energocom notes, most of the purchased power (61.01%) was imported. The share of local production in the total volume of purchases in February amounted to 38.99%, of which CHPPs in Chisinau and Balti generated 131 thousand MWh (32.61% of the total volume), while renewable energy parks and installations generated almost 26 thousand MWh (6.38%). Energocom specified that NAER tariffs are set for urban heating plants, as well as for some renewable energy producers. In the case of green energy producers on the free market, the purchase price is governed by the regulation of the Commission for Emergency Situations of December 27, 2024. Taxes and costs related to delivery and logistics are added to the purchase price. // 04.03.2025 - InfoMarket
