The National Sustainable Energy Centre of Moldova has been officially accepted to the European Energy Network (EnR)

It has become the first institution from a non-EU country to join this structure. The accession agreement was signed during the EnR plenary session held in Dublin (Ireland) by the Director of the National Sustainable Energy Centre Ion Muntean and the current President of EnR, Director of the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) William Walsh. With this step, the National Sustainable Energy Centre of Moldova has become the 25th member of EnR and the first institution from a non-EU country to join the prestigious European network. Joining EnR opens up new opportunities for the National Sustainable Energy Centre of Moldova, facilitating cooperation with European national energy agencies in order to promote energy efficiency, renewable energy sources and the transition to a sustainable energy system. "By cooperating with EnR, we aim to transform energy challenges into development opportunities, implementing sustainable solutions that will stimulate both economic growth and environmental protection. In addition, the constant exchange of knowledge and active participation in the working groups will contribute to accelerating the necessary reforms, ensuring a secure and competitive energy future for the entire country," said Ion Muntean. The European Energy Network (EnR) is a voluntary European network of 24 national energy agencies whose mission is to cooperate in the field of energy efficiency, renewable energy and climate change mitigation measures. Through its working groups, EnR supports the development and implementation of sustainable energy policies at European level. "With this membership, the National Sustainable Energy Centre of Moldova confirms its commitment to contribute to the development of a modern, sustainable and competitive energy sector in Moldova, while strengthening the strategic partnership with European institutions in the field of sustainable energy," stated by the said center.// 03.03.2025 – InfoMarket.
