The Moldovan government will soon announce a Compensation Program for businesses and will support with subsidies investments in improving the energy efficiency of agro-industrial enterprises - Dorin Recean

Prime Minister made the announcement during a working meeting with representatives of the biggest companies from the Moldovan agro-food sector, representatives of associations of meat, milk and bakery producers. The participants in the meeting spoke about the importance of regulating the energy consumption at the enterprise level and the need to invest in energy efficiency. Dorin Recean said that in the context of the challenges created by the energy crisis, the preservation of competitiveness and the fight against inflation remain the main tasks, while in the long term, the priority is to adapt to the market price of electricity. “Our goal is to go through a transition period where we will invest in energy efficiency and renewable energy to spend less. Until then, we will support the food industry through short and long-term measures. Let us not forget that the current crisis represents a challenge, but also an opportunity to turn our economy into a more efficient and sustainable one,” Dorin Recean said. Prime Minister referred to the program of compensations for the business environment, which will be announced in the near future, and spoke about the state assistance mechanism for investments in the Moldovan industry. He said that the mechanism will support the producers who intend to modernize their business, including in order to improve the energy efficiency. The industry representatives raised the need to subsidize solar panel installation projects, energy audits, as well as the revision of customs duties on imported raw materials. The meeting participants described measures they have taken to save electricity at their enterprises, including installing automatic light switch-off sensors and replacing ordinary light bulbs with LED ones. // 10.01.2025 - InfoMarket.
