Energocom has signed a contract with OMV Petrom România for the purchase of 30 MW of electricity (24 hours per day) for the period of January 10 - 31
According to the state-owned company's statement, under the terms of the contract, the price cannot be disclosed at the moment, but it is lower than the current offers on the market. In the coming weeks, price fluctuations are expected due to the resumption of economic activity, which will lead to an increase in consumption both in Romania and Moldova. Energocom notes that the contract with OMV will reduce the volume of electricity purchased on the exchange, which is also characterized by volatility. In October-December 2022, when Moldova faced a similar crisis after the Moldavskaya GRES stopped supplying the right bank of the Nistru/Dniester River, Energocom also bought electricity from OMV Petrom, which owns the thermal power plant in Brazi, which generates electricity by processing natural gas. // 09.01.2025 - InfoMarket
