Electricity consumption on the right bank of the Dniester was fully covered on January 5-6 without the use of emergency contracts or unforeseen flows - Moldovan government
As reported by the Cabinet of Ministers, the sources used to ensure consumption include: Termoelectrica - 32.35% of the total electricity volume, CET-Nord - 5.12%, Costesti HPP - 1.21%, renewable energy sources - 11.83%, the balance of electricity imports from Romania - 49.49%. As noted, the capacities available for commercial imports of electricity from Romania through the ENTSO-E network were sufficient to cover the projected demand. The additional allocation of 364 MW contributed to strengthening energy security. For the left bank of the Dniester, the Moldovan GRES adjusted production using alternative fuel (coal), with estimated reserves for 30-50 days. However, due to high consumption, scheduled power outages continue in the region. These include the settlements of Copanca and Varnita, with scheduled interruptions between 17:00-20:00 and 20:00-23:00. The pressure in the gas transmission networks managed by Vestmoldtransgaz is maintained within the functional parameters. Natural gas reserves in this sector are sufficient and supplies are uninterrupted. Generating units operate according to schedule and so far there have been no reports of failures or disruptions in the system. The Moldovan authorities call on citizens to use electricity rationally, especially during peak hours. Those affected by interruptions are advised to contact local suppliers to quickly resolve the problem. The government continues to monitor the situation in the energy systems, providing the population with up-to-date information.// 06.01.2025 — InfoMarket
