The Energy Ministry will hold on October 11 a seminar for potential investors on the details of participation in tenders for the construction of large photovoltaic and wind power plants in Moldova with a total capacity of 165 MW

According to the Ministry, the seminar will provide information on the main characteristics of the tender, its deadlines, eligibility criteria, the process of submitting tender documents and the evaluation of financial offers. Participants will also learn details about the process of becoming a major eligible producer, as well as important legislative and procedural aspects. During the Q&A sessions, participants will have the opportunity to ask questions to Carolina Novac, State Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, as well as experts from national energy institutions and representatives of international organizations such as EBRD, DLA Piper and NERA. The tender documentation itself is available on the Energy Ministry's website. Earlier, Energy Minister Victor Parlicov said that Moldova will attract investments worth almost 200 million euros for the construction of large wind and photovoltaic parks with a total capacity of 165 MW. Through this auction, investments of about 190 million euros are expected for the construction of wind and photovoltaic parks. It is expected that once the connection of the power plants is completed, the share of energy produced from renewable sources will increase from 10% to 16.6%, which will contribute significantly to meeting the commitment of 27% of the country's total consumption by 2030, a target set in the Integrated National Energy and Climate Plan developed with the support of the European Union. According to the simplified participation requirements, the winning bidders will receive a fixed price for the electricity produced, guaranteed for 15 years. The guaranteed fixed price will be determined during the auction, but it cannot exceed the maximum price of 1.5 lei/kWh for wind power and 1.67 lei/kWh for solar power, set by the National Energy Regulatory Agency. A total capacity of 165 MW is allocated for large renewable capacities, divided by technology - 105 MW for wind installations and 60 MW for photovoltaic installations. // 08.10.2024 - InfoMarket.
