59 private houses in Moldova’s rural households with extreme energy vulnerability will improve their energy efficiency with state support

The National Center for Sustainable Energy announced this, announcing the start of the energy rehabilitation process of the first 59 individual houses that were selected under the financial product “Energy Efficiency of Individual Houses in Rural Households with Extreme Energy Vulnerability”. The decision to finance the energy audit design services was approved by the Financing and Risk Committee of the National Center for Sustainable Energy. The approval of this decision will be followed by the conclusion of a contract for energy audit preparation services, which will be financed by GIZ Moldova. Following the energy audit, the beneficiaries will receive a list of energy rehabilitation measures for houses, which are recommended for individual households and for which they can request co-financing from the Residential Energy Efficiency Fund of Moldova (FEERM). Thus, according to the recommendations presented in the energy audit report, the beneficiaries will be able to perform the following works: thermal insulation of external walls, roof and basement of the house; modernization/installation of the heating system; installation of solid biofuel heating equipment; modernization of the hot water production system; modernization/upgrade of the lighting system; replacement of external doors and/or windows. For the implementation of these works, the financial assistance of the National Center for Sustainable Energy under the Moldovan Residential Energy Efficiency Fund will amount to 95% of the cost of eligible investments and the beneficiary's contribution will be 5%. The Residential Energy Efficiency Fund (FEERM) is a new financial instrument for Moldova that offers financing solutions for energy modernization projects of houses - both multi-storey buildings and individual households. The National Center for Sustainable Energy is a state institution subordinated to the Ministry of Energy, whose mission is to coordinate and organize activities aimed at ensuring the implementation of the state policy in the assigned fields of activity, including by attracting and managing financial resources for financing and promoting projects and programs in the respective fields in a sustainable way in terms of environment, climate change, which will contribute to increasing the degree of energy security and energy efficiency. // 07.10.2024 - InfoMarket.
