World Bank experts in the energy sector have assessed the implementation progress of the ongoing projects in this sector of Moldova

Termoelectrica reported this, noting that the overall implementation phase, technical, financial, environmental and social aspects, as well as other priorities related to the Moldova Power System Development Project and the Chisinau Centralized Heating System Efficiency Improvement Project (PIESACET-2) were analyzed by the World Bank delegation. During the WB visit, a number of working meetings and field visits were held with the participation of representatives of the Moldovan Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Education and Research, Termoelectrica and Moldelectrica, and the Consolodated Unit for Implementation and Monitoring of Energy Projects (UCIPE). Termoelectrica is the beneficiary of the project for improving the efficiency of the centralized heating system (PIESACET-2), the main objective of which is to improve the efficiency of the district heating system in Chisinau, the thermal comfort for the consumers of Chisinau municipality and the performance of the power units, including through the implementation of innovative technologies. At the same time, Termoelectrica is a participant of the project “Sustainable Transition to Energy Efficiency in Moldova (STEEM)”, which includes, among others, the installation of about 280 individual heating units in public institutions of Chisinau municipality as a priority.
