Moldova does not rule out Russia's reduction of gas supplies to the left bank of the Dniester to the level of internal consumption of the Transnistrian region
This was announced by Energy Minister Victor Parlicov, who, at the same time, assured that Moldova will be generally provided with both electricity and natural gas. “I expect that the Russian Federation may continue to limit gas volumes for the left bank of the Dniester, up to the level of internal consumption in the Transnistrian region. However, no matter what Russia does, Moldova will be supplied with electricity and natural gas,” Victor Parlicov emphasized. He pointed out that, thanks to the synchronization of Moldova's grids with the ENTSO-E continental energy system, Moldova can import electricity from Romania and, as a consequence, no longer be blackmailed by the termination of electricity supplies from Moldavskaya GRES located in the Transnistrian region. “In recent years we have something to be proud of in terms of energy. If earlier Moldova was on the edge of the Soviet electricity system and could be cut off at any moment, now we are synchronized with the European system and can import energy from any country on the continent,” the Energy Ministry head said. // 06.09.2024 - InfoMarket
