BRM East Energy - Moldova's Natural Gas Exchange has reported the successful conclusion of the first gas purchase transaction by a non-household consumer, one of the largest companies in the energy sector.

According to BRM East Energy, the transaction was initiated by CET NORD from Balti and envisaged the purchase of 22 million 279 thousand 649 MWh of gas with delivery in the period from 01.05.2024 to 01.10.2024. 3 bidders took part in the auction; the starting price amounted to 704 lei/MWh. Natural Gas DC was recognized as the winner of the auction, with the final price amounting to 691.9 lei/MWh. According to the technical specification and the purchase and sale contract, the price includes all expenses related to the delivery of natural gas to the place of consumption, including transportation costs, balancing and other taxes. The price fixed in the transaction is in line with the European average, taking into account a similar volume, delivery period and services included. According to Natural Gas DC, the natural gas to be supplied by CET NORD will be purchased exclusively from European exchanges, including Romania. BRM East Energy expressed gratitude to all the companies that took part in the bidding procedure, showing openness to competition and actively contributing to the creation of a free market in conditions of fair competition. At the same time, BRM East Energy congratulated CET NORD and Natural Gas DC for concluding the transaction in a transparent, fair and cost-effective manner and thanked them for their trust. BRM East Energy said it is willing to further participate in the process of liberalization of the natural gas market in Moldova and in the European course of modernization of the Moldovan economy. It was emphasized that the promotion of fair and efficient competition between natural gas suppliers in Moldova, offered by BRM platforms, will lead to an increase in the transparency of natural gas procurement procedures, obtaining a competitive price for end consumers, as well as to the consolidation of a stable and sustainable environment, which will allow diversifying the sources of natural gas procurement, thus increasing Moldova's energy security. BRM East Energy invited all economic operators in Moldova interested in purchasing gas for their own consumption or for supplying it to other end-users to join and participate in transactions conducted through BRM East Energy platforms, offering maximum transparency, efficiency and competitiveness. // 12.04.2024 – InfoMarket
