
Women who are engaged in agricultural production can receive grants to improve energy efficiency; the total funding fund is $650 thousand.
UNDP in Moldova, with financial support from Switzerland and Japan, announced a competition of projects for women from 16 regions of the country. They will be able to receive grants to implement solutions in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources. A total of 75 projects will be selected. In particular, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation through UNDP will finance 45 projects: 30 - worth up to $6 thousand, for women who are engaged in agricultural activities at the household level, and 15 - worth up to $18 thousand - for owners of small and medium-sized agricultural enterprises. The Government of Japan, through UNDP, will support 30 projects: 20 domestic producers will receive grants of up to $5 thousand, and 10 small and medium-sized female agricultural producers - up to $10 thousand. As part of this program, assistance will be provided for the following activities: installation of photovoltaic panels, equipment for biogas production, heat pumps, biomass boilers; implementation of measures to improve energy efficiency in warehouses and premises used in the production process; other actions that help increase the energy autonomy of micro, small and medium-sized agricultural enterprises managed by women. Women from 16 districts of the country are invited to participate in the grant competition (Telenesti, Ungheni, Soldanesti, Hincesti, Singerei, Briceni, Orhei, Straseni, Criuleni, Dubasari, Floresti, Rezina, Cantemir, Causeni, Cahul, Taraclia). Program beneficiaries must contribute at least 20% of the requested grant amount. Project proposals can be submitted by women who are engaged in agriculture at the household level, manage peasant farms, individual entrepreneurs, limited liability companies, and business associations.
