The heat tariff for Termoelectrica consumers has been reduced by almost 23%, to 2138 lei per Gcal, and for CET-Nord - by 30.2%, to 2245 lei per Gcal.
The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) adopted a decision to this effect on Tuesday. It will take effect as soon as it is published in Monitorul Oficial (the Official Journal of Moldova). In particular, the tariff for heat energy supplied to Termoelectrica consumers was reduced by 22.9% (-636 lei), from 2774 to 2138 lei per Gcal (without VAT), while the tariff for heat energy supplied to CET-Nord consumers was reduced by 30.2% (-970 lei), from 3215 to 2245 lei/Gcal (without VAT). According to ANRE, the main factors that led to the reduction of the regulated tariffs were: reduction of the planned expenses for 2024 for the purchase of natural gas consumed for energy production, as a result of the decrease in the average purchase price of natural gas in 2024; modification of the parameters of the Production Program for 2024; updating the forecast of the main macroeconomic indicators for 2024; prevention of further financial deviations in the regulated activity. The tariffs for heat produced by Termoelectrica and CET-Nord were last changed as of January 1, 2024, when they were reduced by 15.1% and 9.7%, respectively. Energy Minister Victor Parlicov said earlier that lower natural gas prices would lead to a reduction in heat and electricity tariffs. // 19.03.2024 - InfoMarket.
