Moldova and Ukraine are working to increase the attractiveness of the Greece-Ukraine gas transportation corridor.
The Moldovan Ministry of Energy reported this, noting that the decision adopted by the Commission for Emergency Situations to apply a 100% discount on entry and exit tariffs for gas transmission services at 2 of the 4 interconnection points (Grebenyky and Ananiev) of the gas transmission system of Moldova and Ukraine will also contribute to this. The discount will apply to users of the gas transmission system transporting natural gas to the underground gas storages of Ukraine along the route Causeni - Grebenyky - Ananiev - Oleksiivka. A similar decision on the same points is expected to be adopted in Ukraine on October 9. The Moldovan Energy Ministry reminds that the state-owned Energocom used for the first time the "vertical corridor" for the transportation of natural gas from Greece to Ukraine and demonstrated its technical and economic feasibility. The most difficult part of this route is related to the numerous entry-exit points between Moldova and Ukraine, which reduces the competitiveness of the route both logistically and commercially. Moldova and Ukraine are currently cooperating to further simplify this route. // 05.10.2023 - InfoMarket
