Energocom extended the contract with Moldavskaya GRES for another month and will purchase 305 thousand MWh of electricity from it in October at the previous price of $66 per MWh.
The state company Energocom reported this, noting that the contract providing for the supply of electricity from the Moldavian State District Power Plant to the right bank of the Dniester in October 2023 was extended on September 29. The terms of the contract remained unchanged, as in previous months: the purchase price will be $66 per MWh. In October, Moldavskaya GRES will supply about 305 thousand MWh to the right bank of the Dniester under a contract with Energocom, which will amount to approximately 85% of the necessary needs of consumers on the right bank of the Dniester. The rest of the electricity needed for October, in addition to that produced from renewable sources and combined heat and power plants, will be contracted from producers in Romania, Ukraine and the OPCOM exchange (Romanian electricity market operator). It is emphasized that negotiations with MGRES will continue to provide the necessary electricity to consumers on the right bank of the Dniester for the next period. As reported by the regional Ministry of Economic Development, Moldavian State District Power Plant and Energocom came to a decision to conclude an agreement for the supply of electricity to the right bank of the Dniester, maintaining current parameters for a period of 1 month, in order to prepare for a possible long-term contract. It was previously reported that Energocom's current contract with Moldavskaya GRES was valid until the end of September, and negotiations are underway with Moldavian GRES on its extension, starting in October of this year. At the same time, in order to diversify sources of electricity supplies, the state-owned company Energocom is also looking for new suppliers. // 29.09.2023 — InfoMarket
