ANRE of Moldova and Romania will continue active cooperation and sign a new joint action plan for 2024 by the end of 2023.
This was stated during a new working meeting that the members of the Management Board of the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) of Moldova held with the team of ANRE of Romania. The director of ANRE of Moldova, Eugen Carpov, said that the cooperation between the energy regulators of the two countries brings additional value to their fields of activity. He described as very important the exchange of experience and assistance of Romanian specialists to the colleagues from ANRE of Moldova. "Romania's experience in regulating the energy sector is extremely useful in the context of Moldova's obtaining the status of a candidate country for EU membership," Eugen Carpov said. For his part, Romanian ANRE Deputy Chairman Mircea Man said that the Romanian side remains open for long-term cooperation. "We will continue presenting you all the necessary technical support and the best practices we have, especially now, when Moldova is adjusting the primary and secondary legislative framework to the European norms," he said. The sides discussed aspects related to the situation in the region's energy sector. They also touched upon the following topics: the procedure of setting tariffs for the transportation and distribution of natural gas, the process of storing natural gas, the support schemes for the producers of electricity from renewable sources, the mechanism of billing for the imbalances created in the power grid by the participants of the electricity market, etc. At the same time, the parties discussed the process of certification of transmission system operators (TSOs) and problems that may arise after the completion of TSO certification.
