
Energocom bought 24 MWh of natural gas for the first time on the Romanian Commodity Exchange at 1 MWh per hour.
The price per MWh was 240 Romanian lei (the equivalent of 48.82 euros), according to a press release from this state-owned company and the Energy Ministry of Moldova. This purchase was made to test a new mechanism of natural gas purchase and create a new logistics chain. The gas will be resold to Moldovagaz, the price does not include the cost of transportation. According to Victor Binzarari, the interim director of Energocom, the goal of the action was to diversify the sources of natural gas supply, to find available sources and to ensure the energy security of the country.
