Moldova and Romania will resume the work of a joint working group on energy.
It will include officials from relevant ministries and heads of major energy companies. The Ministry of Energy of Moldova made a statement to this effect, noting that this decision was adopted following a meeting in Chisinau between Moldovan Energy Minister Victor Parlicov and his Romanian counterpart Virgil-Daniel Popescu. According to the Energy Ministry, the sides also discussed the implementation of projects on interconnection of the energy systems of the two countries, in particular, the initiative of building a high voltage 400 kV power line Balti-Suceava. Cooperation projects between the energy companies of the two countries were also discussed. Victor Parlicov noted that Romania has significantly contributed to ensuring Moldova's energy security. "We received electricity from Romania to cover the necessary consumption, fuel oil as an alternative fuel for the central heating system, wood for the rural population, and natural gas stocks in Romania", he said. // 24.03.2023 - InfoMarket.
