Moldova ranks 3rd in the world in terms of cheapness of fixed broadband Internet.

According to the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology, this is stated in a study conducted by Cable.co.uk platform from Great Britain. The research included analysis of 3703 packages of broadband Internet offers from 219 countries and was conducted from January 2 to March 1, 2023. According to the study, Moldova ranks 3rd in the world in the ranking of countries with the cheapest fixed broadband Internet with an average monthly fee of $7.03. The first place in the ranking is taken by Sudan, where such a monthly fee is $2.3, while Kazakhstan, where the corresponding monthly fee is $5.11, holds the second place. At the end of the ranking is Burundi, whose residents pay an average of $383.79 per month for fixed broadband. Eastern European countries have the lowest prices for fixed broadband, averaging $19.22 a month. Western European countries offer monthly subscriptions at an average price of $50.87, and for North American users these services cost an average of $104.33 per month. The authors of the research note that penetration of fixed broadband Internet in Moldova is much lower than in comparable European countries and there is huge potential for growth, while the number of subscribers of high-speed fixed Internet is steadily increasing. // 21.03.2023 – InfoMarket
