Energocom will continue to buy cheaper electricity from the Romanian company Hidroelectrica at a price of 450 RON per MWh from December 1.

Energocom will again buy electricity from Romania's Hidroelectrica at a rate of 100 MWh (24/7) from December 1 to December 11 and 20 MWh from December 12 to December 31, the state-run company said in a statement. The purchase price, according to the contract, will be 450 RON per MW (92 euros). Energocom said, thus, starting from December 1, the amount of electricity supplied from Romania under bilateral contracts would increase to 5,100 MWh during weekdays and 5,800 MWh during weekends, out of a daily requirement of about 10,000 MWh. At the same time, as of November 30, Energocom has purchased more than 8,800 MWh of electricity on the OPCOM exchange in addition to bilateral contracts, and there will be no shortage on Wednesday. Earlier it was reported that Moldova has been buying 100 MWh of electricity from the Romanian company Hidroelectrica since October 14 at a price of 450 RON per MWh, which is below the market price in Romania. Energocom recently reported that the overall weighted average price of 1 MWh of electricity purchased by the company on the exchange in Romania in one month was 231 euros. Overall, since Energocom started buying electricity from OPCOM (the state company set up to liberalize Romania's electricity market), the Moldovan state company has bought a total of 51.6 million euros worth of electricity in a month. These daily purchases covered 2/3 of Moldova's needs and were also the most expensive purchases in this area. Before that, the Moldovan HPP located in Transnistria (Dnestrovsk) used to cover 70% of Moldova's needs in electric power, supplying it at $62.5/MWh. // 30.11.2022 - InfoMarket
