Moldovan authorities expect the price of gas supplied by Gazprom to decrease from $825 per thousand cubic meters in November to $750-800 per thousand cubic meters in December.

Moldovan authorities expect the price of gas supplied by Gazprom to decrease from $825 per thousand cubic meters in November to $750-800 per thousand cubic meters in December.

Andrei Spinu, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development stated this while speaking on air of PRO TV channel. "In November, we bought gas from Gazprom at $825 per thousand cubic meters. There are no final figures, calculations for December, but the price is expected to be around $750-800," said Andrei Spinu. According to him, this new decrease of the purchasing price of gas can create prerequisites for further decrease of tariffs for household consumers of Moldova, but a lot will depend on the volume of gas supplied to Moldova by Gazprom and its price on international markets. If the decrease of the purchasing prices for gas continues, the tariffs for final consumers can be decreased after the accumulated negative deviations of tariffs are compensated in full. Deputy Prime Minister mentioned that, although the tariff for gas for household consumers exceeds 29 lei per 1 cubic meter, taking into consideration the compensation offered by the Government, most consumers will pay for gas 12, 14 and 17 lei per 1 cubic meter, depending on the level of energy vulnerability of their families. // 29.11.2022 - InfoMarket
