Gasoline and diesel continue to fall in price in Moldova amid a decline in fuel prices on international exchanges.
The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) said the drop in the prices for oil and oil products on international exchanges is constantly felt inside the country due to the rules of fuel price calculation based on Platts quotes. In particular, compared to the maximum values in June, gasoline COR 95 was sold about 10 lei per liter cheaper and diesel - by 6.65 lei per liter. The respective decrease is solely due to the decrease of Platts quotations, which have dropped below $800 per ton of gasoline and below $1,000 per ton of diesel in the last sessions. According to ANRE, the maximum retail prices for the main standard oil products, as of September 27, are as follows: gasoline COR 95 - 24.02 lei per liter (5 bani less); standard diesel - 25.81 lei per liter (21 bani less). ANRE again stresses that, based on the methodology applied, the fuel is sold at the petrol station at a fair price, corresponding to the realities of the day. Only the events on the international market influence the prices of oil products, excluding the possibility for oil companies to interfere in the process of price setting. // 26.09.2022 - InfoMarket.
