The volume of natural gas consumption in Moldova amounted to 26 million cubic meters in August 2022, which is 14.6% less than in the same period of 2021.
According to the Press Service of Moldovagaz, the volume of natural gas consumption fell by 0.6 million cubic meters (-2%) compared to July 2022. As of August 31, 2022, domestic consumers had paid 98.8% of the amounts billed, which is identical to the same period of the previous year. In the case of non-domestic consumers (legal entities), the share of payments reached 99.7%, with an increase of 2 percentage points. In the heating sector enterprises of the country, the payment rate was 99.9%, which is 0.1 percentage points higher than in August 2021. In the reporting period, 1262 consumption points were disconnected from the network, the owners of which owed the supplier 7.37 million lei. At the same time, 362 consumers were transferred to advance payment, due to the earlier suspension of supplies for non-payment of natural gas on time. According to Moldovagaz, the total level of payment for natural gas consumed in the current year as of August 31, 2022 amounted to 8.631 million lei and covered 99.4% of supplies. // 19.09.2022- InfoMarket.
