Czech companies are ready to implement major infrastructure projects in Moldova, and the Czech Development Agency implemented projects worth nearly €10.5 million in our country in 2023 - 2025
This topic was discussed during a meeting held between Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu and the Czech Ambassador to our country, Jaromír Plisek. The parties discussed bilateral cooperation, support for Moldova’s rapprochement with the European Union, and opportunities to increase Czech investments in our country, including within the framework of the EU-supported Growth Plan. The officials discussed the current regional situation and the government’s actions to stimulate economic growth, implement the reform agenda, and advance on the path toward European integration. The Growth Plan for Moldova plays an important role in this, supporting infrastructure modernization, economic development, structural reforms, and integration into the EU Single Market. Alexandru Munteanu highlighted the investment opportunities offered by Moldova, including those within the Moldova IT Park. In this regard, the Czech Ambassador expressed the interest of Czech companies in participating in major infrastructure projects, as well as in providing expertise in a number of areas. The interlocutors also discussed the organization of the next meeting of the Moldovan-Czech Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation in Chisinau. As noted, Moldova is among the priority countries for Czech foreign aid and receives support in the social and energy sectors, as well as in the areas of security and defense. The Czech Republic has contributed to the Energy Vulnerability Reduction Fund, the implementation of the RESTART reform to strengthen the social security system, refugee crisis management, and the modernization of the National Army.
