This was discussed during a meeting held in Washington, D.C., between Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Eugen Osmochescu and World Bank Group Vice Presidents Antonella Bassani and Kim Sangbu. The two engaged in a constructive dialogue on deepening cooperation and accelerating ongoing projects. Eugen Osmochescu emphasized the fundamental importance of the World Bank Group for Moldova, which plays a vital role in supporting reforms, strengthening institutions, and modernizing key sectors of the national economy. He particularly noted the long-standing cooperation between Moldova and the World Bank, as well as the ongoing support provided through a portfolio of approximately $1.7 billion. This has a direct impact on improving public services, advancing structural reforms in key economic and social development areas, and ensuring the well-being of Moldova's citizens. Eugen Osmochescu emphasized that World Bank assistance is crucial for Moldova's European integration path, contributing to legislative reform, the digitalization of public services, improving tax administration, and developing critical infrastructure. He expressed interest in accelerating the implementation of ongoing projects, particularly in the areas of digitalization and enhancing the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises.
