Moldova welcomes new French investment, which currently totals approximately $190 million - Alexandru Munteanu

The Prime Minister made this statement while speaking at a Moldovan-French business forum in Chisinau. He urged French businesspeople to view Moldova not just as a market, but as a European project in full swing. He noted that Moldova is ready for investment and a long-term economic partnership. The event was organized in partnership with Business France and was dedicated to strengthening trade and investment partnerships between Moldovan and French companies. Alexandru Munteanu emphasized that economic relations between Moldova and France are strong, and the presence of French companies in our country demonstrates growing interest in the opportunities offered by the national economy. France ranks fourth in the ranking of foreign investors, with total French investment in Moldova amounting to approximately $190 million. The Prime Minister noted that French investors trust Moldova, which is increasingly present on the European economic map. "Today, our country is undergoing transformation, rapidly modernizing, and aligning its economy, institutions, and regulations with European standards. For investors, this means greater stability and predictability. Therefore, I urge you to view Moldova not just as a market, but as a European project under construction," said the Prime Minister. He emphasized that the national economy grew by 2.4% in 2025, and sectors such as information technology, modern agriculture, manufacturing, and construction continue to develop dynamically, offering real investment opportunities. "The government is ready to be an active partner for the business environment. We need investors who build sustainable projects, create jobs, implement technology, innovation, and add value to our economy. Moldova is not simply looking for capital. Moldova is looking for long-term partners who contribute to the development of our economy," added Alexandru Munteanu. The forum will include discussions on Moldova's economic future, the role of financial institutions, and the solutions proposed by the French side for economic development.
