A number of world-renowned Japanese companies are exploring Moldova’s economic and investment potential for possible cooperation

According to the Investment Agency, last week it hosted a delegation of Japanese entrepreneurs organized in partnership with the Japanese Embassy in our country. The event brought together companies and organizations interested in exploring our country’s economic potential. The delegation included representatives of world-renowned companies—Marubeni Corporation, Mitsubishi Corporation, Sumitomo Corporation, Panasonic, Toyota, Nippon Express, Nippon Koei, PADECO, SDG Impact Japan, and KPMG—as well as representatives of JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency). The meeting highlighted the key advantages Moldova offers to investors: preferential access to the EU market thanks to the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement with the European Union; a highly skilled workforce at competitive prices; rapid development of the information technology sector and existing tax incentives; the benefits of the regional state aid scheme for investments; and the alignment of economic legislation with EU standards. Participants also learned more about the current economic situation in Moldova during a presentation by the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization of Moldova, as well as about the tax incentives offered within the framework of the Moldova Innovation Technology Park. A key part of the program was a visit to the SEBN MD plant in Orhei, where guests were able to see firsthand the production facilities and technological capabilities of local industry. “Such visits help strengthen economic ties between Moldova and Japan and familiarize foreign investors with our country’s investment climate,” the Investment Agency emphasized. // 18.03.2026 — InfoMarket.
