Moldova is an example of a successful economic stabilization process, and now is the best time for new investors to enter the country – OECD
This opinion was expressed by Frantisek Ruzicka, Deputy Secretary-General of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), during a meeting with Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu. The parties discussed cooperation between Moldova and the OECD, as well as the support provided by the organization in addition to all external assistance that promotes the country’s European course. Alexandru Munteanu emphasized that European integration, economic growth, and strengthening security are the government’s main goals, and that support from external partners is crucial for achieving them. According to him, OECD assistance covers numerous sectors, including the development of green energy, support for the business environment and small and medium-sized enterprises, judicial reform, combating disinformation, and strengthening financial literacy. In turn, Frantisek Ruzicka noted that Moldova is an example of a successful economic stabilization process and assured that the support provided will be adapted to current needs to accelerate European integration. He emphasized the importance of the Memorandum of Cooperation signed in 2023 and the Moldova-OECD Action Plan for 2024–2027, as well as their contribution to implementing reforms and strengthening institutional capacity. The parties also discussed improving the investment climate and Moldova’s position in international rankings—factors that contribute to enhancing the country’s image and attracting investment into the economy. “I believe that now is the best time for investors to come to Moldova and subsequently develop their businesses here, once you become an EU member,” Frantisek Ruzicka noted in this context. The Prime Minister and the OECD Deputy Secretary-General agreed to strengthen the dialogue, which has been on an upward trajectory in recent years, so that Moldova can continue to receive expertise designed to support our country’s efforts toward European integration. The meeting took place in the context of the high-level OECD representative’s participation in the High-Level Conference on Social Rights – the European Social Charter, organized under Moldova’s chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe. // 19.03.2026 — InfoMarket.
