An automated weather station costing approximately 613,000 lei was installed in the Orheiul Vechi Cultural and Natural Reserve
The station operates in real time and records data on temperature, precipitation, humidity, and wind speed, allowing for a more accurate assessment of climate change and the prompt identification of periods of drought or intense precipitation. The data obtained will be used to plan measures to protect natural habitats and maintain ecosystem balance, as well as to manage the protected area in the face of climate change. The total cost of the equipment and protection system was 612,800 lei, of which 540,900 lei was provided by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) and 71,900 lei by the Cultural reserve administration. // 23.03.2026 — InfoMarket.
