The Council of Europe Development Bank will provide Moldova with a €30 million loan to expand its network of model schools

This is provided for in a loan agreement between Moldova and the Council of Europe Development Bank, which has been approved by the Cabinet of Ministers. According to the government, thanks to the agreement, 15 more general education institutions in Moldova will be completely renovated, and the country's network of model schools will be expanded by 15 more. They will be completely renovated and equipped with modern equipment and furniture, with a total of €35 million allocated for this purpose. The funding will ensure the restoration and development of 15 schools and their surrounding areas. In particular, measures will be implemented to improve energy efficiency and ensure access for people with reduced mobility. Support infrastructure, including water supply and sewerage networks, will also be modernized. These measures will contribute to creating a safe learning environment, reducing school dropout rates, and increasing the participation of children from vulnerable groups in the educational process. At the same time, the project will help attract and retain teachers in the system, especially in rural areas. A total of 90 model schools will be established in all districts and municipalities of Moldova. Approximately 13 thousand students and 800 teachers will directly benefit from these efforts. The network of model schools is a project of the Ministry of Education and Research, under which many schools in our country will be modernized in terms of both infrastructure and teaching methods. // 21.05.2025 — InfoMarket
