
In Moldova, UCIP IFAD supported 108 investment projects in 2024 aimed at supporting the development and diversification of agricultural producers' businesses, with total funding of €3.62 million
The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry of Moldova and the IFAD Consolidated Program Implementation Unit (UCIP IFAD Moldova) reported this, noting that, in particular, 108 farmers received assistance for rural business development. In particular, the Talent Retention for Rural Transformation Project (TRTP), implemented under the leadership of UCIP IFAD Moldova, was launched in 2021 and is scheduled to run for six years. In 2024, UCIP IFAD Moldova supported 108 investment projects that actively contribute to the development and diversification of Moldovan agricultural producers' businesses, with a total funding of €3.62 million. In particular, €326.66 thousand was allocated to 24 projects for young entrepreneurs and women, €1.66 million to 18 projects for micro and small enterprises (agricultural production), €693.57 thousand to eight projects for micro and small enterprises (agricultural processing), and €209.98 thousand to 21 projects for microentrepreneurs. For 21 projects for micro-entrepreneurs, €709.57 thousand was allocated, for 33 projects on irrigation equipment, €209.98 thousand was allocated, and for four projects to demonstrate best practices in water resource management, €22.45 thousand was allocated. “We support local farmers and promote sustainable and climate-resilient agriculture.
