Moldova received from Germany a grant of 40 million euros, allocated in the form of budgetary support for the payment of compensation for energy resources.
This was announced by the Ministry of Finance, noting that the grant allocated by Germany has already been transferred to the account of the financial department. This financial assistance will support government programs to compensate vulnerable groups of citizens due to the increase in the cost of energy. The financial resources will support the implementation of the state program Ajutor la contor in Moldova. Thus, the population of Moldova will receive compensation in energy bills during the cold season from November 2022 to March 2023 from the Energy Vulnerability Reduction Fund. An agreement on financing to promote the energy security of vulnerable groups through a German grant for Moldova was signed on November 18 in Chisinau between the German Development Bank KfW and Moldova, represented by the Ministry of Finance. German Ambassador to Moldova Margret Uebber noted earlier that the rise in energy prices as a result of the war in Ukraine means that many households in Moldova are forced to pay a significant part of their income for energy. “This is a huge burden for many households. We are happy to be with our Moldovan friends during these difficult times. With this 40 million euros, we support the Energy Vulnerability Reduction Fund, which especially helps the most needy households. Germany will continue to support Moldova in overcoming the current difficult situation and support the country on the path of European integration,” the German diplomat said. // 30.11.2022 — InfoMarket
