Switzerland and UNDP will allocate $4 million for the implementation of the project "Sustainable and Inclusive Markets in Moldova".
The project will be launched in January 2023 and aims to strengthen economic development by supporting local entrepreneurship, encouraging investment and providing access to decent work for the population, especially youth, women, people with disabilities, returned migrants, as well as refugees on the territory of Moldova. It is planned that the project will be implemented for 24 months and is focused on residents of three micro-regions and 15 communities, in which about 20 thousand people live. The project will support small and medium-sized enterprises as catalysts for local economic growth and encourage cooperation in micro-clusters, depending on the local potential for economic specialization. As part of the project, local entrepreneurs will be encouraged to use digital and environmental solutions in their work in order to increase competitiveness and reduce costs, while at the same time protecting the environment. Herewith, more than 100 representatives of local authorities and the private sector will be able to improve their skills and knowledge in the field of integrated local development, regional economic specialization, access to finance and investment attraction. It should be noted that in 2015-2022 UNDP and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation implemented a joint project "Migration and Local Development", of which benefited 556,000 residents from 116 settlements in Moldova.// 24.11.2022 — InfoMarket.
