Moldova is waiting for new investors from the USA in the financial, energy and logistics sectors - Dorin Recean.

Prime Minister made the statement at a meeting with visiting US senators Jeanne Shaheen and Chris Murphy. The government's press service said that the sides discussed the security situation in the region, the consequences of the hybrid war waged by Russia in Moldova, as well as the ways in which the USA can contribute to Moldova's advancement in the EU integration. Prime Minister commended the USA's constant support for the reforms, highlighting the American side's contribution to the development of key economic sectors, including information technologies and creative industries. He said that another priority reform, also supported by the USA, is the justice reform, and the authorities will continue working in this direction and will fight corruption in order to ensure the country's national security. Dorin Recean said that the creation of conditions for attracting investors in different fields, including American companies, remains an important priority. He said Moldova offers business people a number of incentives, being a country safe for investments. "We want the US people to see our country as a country of opportunities, while economic agents come to invest in the financial, energy and logistics sectors," Dorin Recean said. For their part, the US senators commended the progress made by the Moldovan authorities in the reform process. The officials reiterated their willingness to provide the necessary assistance to consolidate democracy and realize Moldova's European aspirations. The sides also discussed foreign information manipulations, including Russian disinformation campaigns, which pose a threat to Moldova. In this context, the importance of developing citizens' critical thinking and training skills to identify disinformation and propaganda was emphasized. // 20.02.2024 - InfoMarket
