The meeting of the EU-Moldova Association Council will take place in Brussels on February 7.
As noted in the EU report, the meeting of the Council will be held for the seventh time, but for the first time since Moldova received the status of candidate for EU membership. The meeting in Brussels will be co-chaired by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell and Moldovan Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita. European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Policy Olivér Várhelyi will represent the European Commission. The EU and Moldovan representatives will discuss relations against the background of Moldova's status as an EU candidate country, focusing on political dialogue and reforms, economic and sector cooperation, in particular in the energy sector, trade and trade-related issues, as well as cooperation and rapprochement in foreign and security policy. The Moldova-EU Association Council will also discuss global and regional challenges, including the negative consequences of Russian aggression against Ukraine and the Transnistrian settlement. // 01.02.2023 – InfoMarket
