The Government of Moldova has approved a draft law on the ratification of the agreement on social security between our country and Spain.
The agreement was signed in Madrid on July 21, 2022. The document will become the legal basis for the mutual provision of guarantees in the field of social insurance to citizens of both countries who legally work or work and live in Moldova or Spain. In particular, each state will accrue and pay a pension in proportion to the length of service obtained in its territory and in accordance with national legislation. The agreement also guarantees citizens of Moldova and Spain the right to receive survivor benefits, disability pensions, disability benefits resulting from an accident at work or in the event of an occupational disease. Both states will apply national legislation, and the pension / allowance will be transferred monthly to the recipient in the territory of the state in which he/she currently resides. Also, the contracts provide for the procedure for summing up insurance periods, which will allow Moldovan citizens to receive a pension, even if they do not have the minimum insurance period required in our state.
