The Ministry of Finance of Moldova will allocate 70 million lei from the Reserve Fund to the Central Election Commission for organizing and holding early parliamentary elections on July 11.

The corresponding decision was made by the government at a meeting on Wednesday. The Acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi noted that the approved resolution stipulates that the Ministry of Finance will finance the costs of organizing and holding early parliamentary elections on July 11 as soon as the Central Election Commission submits payment documents. At the same time, the Cabinet recommended to the Central Election Commission to revise the previously approved indicative cost estimate for the organization and conduct of early parliamentary elections on July 11 in order to reduce the corresponding expenses. The decision taken by the government will enter into force after its publication in Monitorul oficial. Cabinet members called adequate the decision to allocate 70 million lei for the elections, which would allow not blocking the preparation and holding of early parliamentary elections on July 11, but also leaving part of the funds (29 million lei) in the Reserve Fund to be used, if necessary, for other goals.
