The Supreme Security Council worked out a number of urgent measures to solve the problems of "Railway of Moldova" state enterprise (CFM) and demanded, among other things, the dismissal of its acting general director Adrian Onceanu.

President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, announced this, noting that on April 27, the Supreme Security Council discussed at its meeting a topical and important issue affecting thousands of people and Moldova’s economy: the situation of CFM. According to her, the information presented at this meeting shows that the situation is dramatic. “The management of CFM deliberately led the enterprise to bankruptcy, using corruption schemes, dubious purchases, fraud and theft on an especially large scale. Corruption and poor business management have led to non-payment of wages to employees. While a group of thieves have been robbing the railway company for many years, almost 7,000 people have not received their salaries for more than 4 months. At a time when people have reached the point when they cannot support their families, open cases are hanging in the air, and the pockets of some are filled with illegal money stolen from citizens and the state,” said Maia Sandu. She stressed that the Supreme Security Council agreed to take a number of urgent measures to rectify the situation at the railway station. Thus, the Public Property Agency must submit to the Supreme Security Council within 10 days an operational plan to remedy the situation at the enterprise, which should include measures to restructure debt and prioritize salary payments. The government should urgently find sources of salary payments to employees. In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers was advised to suspend labor contracts with the management of CFM, in particular, with the interim director of CFM Adrian Onceanu, due to poor performance and weak management. The Public Property Agency was ordered to organize a transparent and fair competition for the selection of a new general director of CFM. The National Anti-Corruption Center is expected to take the necessary measures to investigate the activities of the former and current management of CFM in terms of corruption, and the Prosecutor General's Office is recommended to expedite the investigation of criminal cases initiated on the facts of fraud. Railway of Moldova state enterprise was instructed to immediately implement the recommendations of the Accounts Chamber of December 17, 2020 // 28.04.2021 – InfoMarket
