Fines totaling 7 million lei were charged for violation of the established sanitary and epidemiological rules during the state of emergency in Moldova.
Acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi announced this during a briefing following a meeting of the Joint Emergency Management Center. He said that since April 1, law enforcement agencies have checked about 16 thousand economic agents and more than 1.1 thousand religious institutions. As a result, almost 4 thousand violations were documented, and the amount of fines exceeded 7 million lei. According to him, a serious situation with the observance of sanitary standards in the context of the pandemic persists in public transport, in commercial markets and in religious institutions. He noted that most of the services are held inside churches, while if the icons are disinfected and the premises are ventilated between services, then the sacraments are held with one spoon, without disinfection. The Acting Prime Minister noted that such disregard for the rules could lead to an increase in the number of people infected with COVID-19 in the next 2 weeks. Also a big problem is the congestion of people in the markets and at public transport stops. Aureliu Ciocoi urged market and shopping center administrators to make efforts to train additional staff, at least on weekends, to keep the flow of visitors under control. // 21.04.2021 – InfoMarket
