The import of the Russian vaccine against COVID-19 will be exempted from VAT, customs duties and customs fees.
This decision was made by the National Commission for Emergency Situations. In particular, the commission decided to exempt from customs duties, fees for customs procedures and VAT two batches of the Russian vaccine Sputnik V. Russia is expected to provide Moldova with humanitarian aid in the form of 120 thousand doses of vaccine, imports will be provided by the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices, another 62 thousand doses of the vaccine will be transferred to the Transnistrian region, the import will be provided by the Lekpharm company. It should be noted that it is not yet known when the vaccine will arrive in Moldova. According to the decision of the commission, in deviation from the Regulation on the procedure for approving and registering manufacturer's prices for medicines, prices for vaccines against COVID-19 will be set in the amount requested by the manufacturer or the owner of the certificate of registration of the medicine. At the meeting, the commission also decided to temporarily suspend the right to pay lump-sum bonuses to civil servants. This measure aims to maintain savings. Due to the fact that only 30% of the personnel are physically present in state institutions, the period for considering petitions, complaints, requests for information, etc. was doubled. In addition, the commission adopted a number of legal provisions. So, for the period of emergency, some enforcement procedures are limited.
