Moldova might hire a company to carry out the financial and legal audit of each object of Moldovan property in Ukraine and develop a strategy for negotiations with the Ukrainian side to resolve controversial issues.

This was stated by the President of the country Maia Sandu after the meeting of the Supreme Security Council of Moldova, at which, among other things, the problems of unprofessional management and theft of Moldova’s property in Ukraine were discussed. The head of state recalled that recently, in the media, in the public space, there have been discussions about many objects that belong or belonged to Moldova, and which were seized by illegal methods or are in the process of being seized. "After discussions at the meeting of the Supreme Security Council, we made a number of recommendations to the government and other state institutions, asking all institutions that have subordinate facilities in Ukraine to provide very detailed information about the situation of these enterprises, about the financial situation, about legal problems," said Maia Sandu. According to her, the government was recommended to study the feasibility of hiring a company to conduct a financial and legal audit for each facility and develop a strategy for negotiations with the Ukrainian side to resolve issues on which disputes arise. In addition, as the President noted, the Cabinet of Ministers was instructed as a matter of priority to study the situation with the Moldovan consulate in Odessa and the Moldova sanatorium in Truscavet and to submit by April 15 a report to the Supreme Security Council on the actions taken. “We also made a number of recommendations for the Prosecutor General's Office, which informed us that a number of criminal proceedings were initiated in these cases. Of course, we are waiting for an early investigation and, obviously, we will be very interested in the fate of these cases when they reach the court. I repeat - there are many questions to the courts, and we will report these problems to the Supreme Magistracy Council on behalf of the Supreme Security Council, ”said Maia Sandu. // 31.03.2021 – InfoMarket
