In Moldova, mobile operators will be able to pay license fees in 5 equal installments, which will create favorable conditions for investment in advanced networks and technologies

This is the purpose of the amendments to the regulatory framework for the use of radio frequencies approved by the government. As reported by the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, the document provides for the introduction of the possibility of paying license fees in 5 equal installments, of which the 1st installment - before the license is issued, the 2nd - before the end of the year in which the license is issued, and the rest must be paid annually by March 31. Such a flexible approach will reduce the financial pressure on operators and create favorable conditions for investment in advanced networks and technologies. For comparison, the current regulatory framework requires full payment of license fees, which puts serious financial pressure on mobile operators receiving these licenses. This situation negatively affects the ability of providers to make significant investments in the expansion and modernization of networks, especially in the context of the auction for frequencies needed to implement 5G technology. The beneficiaries of the new regulation are mobile network operators and citizens, who will have access to better communication services, including 5G technology. This will contribute to the development of the economy and will have a positive impact on the digitalization and competitiveness of the electronic communications sector. // 29.01.2025 — InfoMarket.
