Moldova has officially launched a mobile governmental application of e-services - EVO - a digital wallet for documents.
Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization, Dumitru Alaiba, announced this, noting that from today Moldovan citizens can leave their ID card, driver's license and registration certificate at home, and all the documents they need will be in their phone. "After months of work, integration and testing, today we offer EVO to everyone. A digital wallet for documents. EVO is more than just an app. It integrates and brings together the best and most important government services we have. All in one place - on your phone. Accessing EVO is easy and free. All you need is an electronic signature. Going to evo.gov.md, everyone can download the app for Android or iOS. Download, test and use it!" Dumitru Alaiba urged citizens. As InfoMarket reported earlier, the integrated government mobile application of e-services EVO will provide individuals and legal entities with remote access to government services, without the need to be physically present in the offices for the provision of public services. All types of public services will be available in EVO, and the Moldovan Diaspora will also be able to use it. At the initial stage, EVO will consist of 12 basic modules: user profile and data, documents, payments, management of notifications and QR codes; access to public services; electronic registration for public services; medical data and the person's status in the mandatory health insurance system (e-Sanatate); e-Democrație module (information on submitting petitions or receiving responses to petitions, opinions expressed during public consultations); a module where all powers of attorney and the chronology of their issuance will be recorded, etc. The application will exchange data with all information systems, registers, platforms, portals and government e-services; it will become a “single window” for access to information systems, platforms, databases of the state. EVO will allow an individual or a representative of a legal entity to store documents in an electronic application, and they will have the same legal validity as documents made of plastic or paper. The application will eliminate paper documents in the interaction of citizens and businesses with government agencies, reduce operational costs for the provision of public services, and will be able to use modern technologies to serve citizens and businesses (e.g., artificial intelligence). The EVO application will be free of charge for users. The EVO integrated government e-services application has been implemented with the support of the Future Technologies Activity funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Sweden and the United Kingdom. // 06.06.2024 - InfoMarket
