Romania's National Authority for Management and Regulation in Communications will support Moldova to reduce or eliminate roaming charges throughout the EU.

This was the subject of a meeting held by Andrei Spinu, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development of Moldova, with Vlad Stoica, Chairman of the Romania's National Authority for Management and Regulation in Communications (ANCOM) and his colleagues. During the meeting, the parties discussed the implementation of the Agreement between the Governments of Romania and Moldova on reduction of tariffs for international roaming and call tariffs between the two states, signed in Chisinau on February 11, 2022. ANCOM representatives presented the experience of Romania in terms of 5G networks security and the auction of 5G licenses. At the same time, the meeting touched upon reducing roaming tariffs between Moldova and the European Union, in the context of a recent request of many Members of the European Parliament. The ANCOM leadership has expressed its support to provide our country with the necessary expertise regarding the Agreement on Reduction of Roaming Tariffs between Moldova and EU countries, including the expertise provided by ANCOM representatives, delegates in the European communication structures. "ANCOM representatives assured us that we will have all the necessary assistance of the working groups and expertise they possess to enable our country to cope with these changes both from a technical and legislative perspective," said Andrei Spinu after the meeting. // 28.11.2022 - InfoMarket
