This was reported by the National Agency for Regulation in the Field of Electronic Communications and Information Technologies, noting that at the same time, the average monthly income per user (ARPU) of mobile Internet via smartphone decreased by 6.5% and amounted to 36.2 lei, and ARPU of dedicated mobile Internet increased by 8.4% - up to 101.4 lei. The market shares of mobile Internet service providers in terms of revenue were as follows: Orange Moldova - 59%, Moldcel - 36%, Moldtelecom-Unite - 5%. According to data provided to the National Agency for Regulation in the Field of Electronic Communications and Information Technologies by providers of mobile communications networks and services (Orange Moldova, Moldcell and Moldtelecom - Unite), in the II quarter of 2022, the total volume of mobile Internet traffic increased by 28% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 61.5 million GB. Herewith, traffic generated by mobile Internet users via smartphones grew by 48.7% and amounted to about 47.5 million GB, while traffic generated by dedicated mobile Internet users decreased by 13.2% to 13.9 million GB. A user who connected to the mobile Internet from a smartphone generated an average monthly traffic (AUPU) in the amount of 6 GB (+28.3%), and a user who used dedicated access to mobile Internet - 34.7 GB (+16.4%). According to the National Agency for Regulation in the Field of Electronic Communications and Information Technologies, in the second quarter of 2022, the total number of users with access to mobile Internet via 4G networks increased by about 5.7% compared to the end of 2021 and exceeded 2.1 million, which is 76% of total number of connections to mobile broadband Internet access services. The total number of mobile broadband Internet users increased over the reporting period by 3.5% and amounted to about 2.8 million, while the number of dedicated mobile Internet users decreased by 8.8% to 134 thousand.
